What's inside
Everything Overhead Flight Radar does, without the filler.
Live map
Aircraft point along the track they are actually flying, so a glance tells you which one is coming towards you.
A photo of that exact aircraft
Not a stock picture of the type — the airframe overhead, by its registration.
Route and progress
Where it came from, where it is going, how far it has come and roughly how long is left.
How old it is
The build year where a register publishes one, an estimate where it does not — and the app says which it is showing.
Filter by what it's doing
Taking off, landing, on the ground or everything, each labelled with how many aircraft it would show.
Danish and English
Both languages, light and dark, VoiceOver throughout.
Why people use Overhead Flight Radar
The reasons that survive the second week.
Answers the question you actually asked
Something loud goes over the garden. Open the app, tap it, and know what it is and where it is going before it is out of sight.
Honest about what it does not know
Most of Europe publishes no build years. Where the age is estimated it carries a tilde, and where nothing is known the app says so rather than inventing a number.
No account, no tracking of you
Your location is used to centre the map and never leaves the phone. There is nothing to sign up for.
Frequently asked questions
Aircraft positions come from airplanes.live, a community network of volunteer ADS-B receivers. Routes and airframe details come from adsbdb.com, and photographs from Planespotters. All three are free and credited in the app.
