Terms of Use

Last updated 24 September 2026

These terms apply to Backgammon for iPhone and iPad, published by EU Studio. By using the game you accept them.

The licence

Backgammon is licensed to you, not sold, under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the standard EULA at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula), together with these terms. Where the two differ, these terms add to Apple's; they do not take away any right Apple's agreement gives you.

Premium

Premium removes the ads and adds the Luxury board, gold dice and gold checkers. It changes how the game looks, never how it plays: the opponent, the dice and the rules are the same with or without it.

  • Premium is offered as a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. The price of each is shown in the game before you buy, in your own currency.
  • Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
  • A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the price shown, unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
  • You manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account settings on your device. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Premium stays active until the end of the period you have paid for.
  • If you move from monthly to yearly, or back, Apple applies the change according to its own subscription rules.
  • The lifetime purchase is paid once and does not renew. It stays yours on every device signed in to the same Apple Account, and you can restore it with Restore purchase in the game.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple, at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Coins and unlocks

  • Coins are earned by playing, from the daily reward, and by watching a video ad when you choose to. They cannot be bought with money, have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for money or anything outside the game, and cannot be transferred to another player.
  • Boards, checkers, dice and avatars unlocked with coins or by reaching a level are part of the game, not property. They are kept with your progress in your own iCloud.
  • If you delete the game and its iCloud data, your coins and unlocks are deleted with it. We cannot restore them, because we never hold them. Premium itself can always be restored from Apple.

Fair play

The dice are random and the game never changes them — not for the computer, and not for a purchase. Nothing you can buy affects a roll, a rule or the strength of an opponent. The computer's levels differ only in how well they play.

Ads

The free version shows ads from Google AdMob, as described in Backgammon's privacy policy. The ads are Google's; EU Studio does not choose individual ads and is not responsible for the products they advertise. Premium removes them.

Game Center

Leaderboards and achievements are provided by Apple's Game Center. Scores that could only have been reached by misusing the game, or by interfering with it, may be removed.

No warranty

The game is provided as it is. We take care over it, but we cannot guarantee that it is free of defects. To the extent the law allows, EU Studio is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from its use. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country you live in.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Danish law. The studio-wide terms at eustudio.org/terms also apply.

Changes

We may update these terms, for instance when the game gains a feature. Material changes will be noted on the news page. Continuing to use the game after a change means accepting the updated terms.
