The box is 360 × 400 pixels and gets narrower on a phone. The link under the box is part of the code.

How the box works

What it shows

The spot price on the power exchange right now, the average for the whole day, the cheapest hour and a small bar chart of the day's hours in green, amber and red. The price is before network tariffs, taxes and VAT, and the box says so.

Where the numbers come from

The Danish, Norwegian and Swedish price areas and Germany come from Energinet's Energi Data Service, the other countries from the Bundesnetzagentur's SMARD. Both may be reused under CC BY 4.0, and the source is named at the bottom of the box. We fetch the prices on our own server, so your visitors only ever ask eustudio.org.

All we ask

The box is free, on commercial sites too. Leave the source line and the link to eustudio.org in place, and keep the text link under the box that the code includes. The box sets no cookies and does no tracking.

Questions about the widget

Does it cost anything?
No. The box is free on private and commercial sites alike. We only ask that the source line and the link stay in place.
How often does the price update?
The box is rebuilt every fifteen minutes with the newest prices from the source. The figure for right now moves on in your visitor's browser when a new hour starts.
Why is the price lower than on my bill?
The box shows the spot price, the price on the power exchange. Your bill adds network tariffs, taxes, the supplier's mark-up and VAT. To work with the full price, use our electricity cost calculator.
Can I change the size?
Yes. Change width and height in the code. The box adapts to widths down to about 280 pixels; the bars simply get thinner.
